Professor Jamhari discussed with Mr. HE Abdurrahman Al Khayyath and Dr. Walid bin Abdullah Al Utsman in Jakarta on June 8, 2024 (UIII/Achmad Jatnika).
UIII, JAKARTA – The Rector of Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), Professor Jamhari, along with other UIII officials, visited the Rabitah 'Alam Islami (World Muslim League) in Jakarta on Friday, June 8, 2024, aiming to initiate an academic partnership specifically in Islamic studies and education.
One of the key points of the meeting will be the formulation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with plans for an intensive meeting to deliberate on the details of the partnership.

The Rector came with the Vice-Rector for Planning, Finance, and Business Development, Prof. Amsal Bakhtiar, Secretary Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, and Academic from the Faculty of Islamic Studies Dr. M. Ilyas Marwal, Lc., D.E.S.A.
Welcoming the delegation were Mr. HE Abdurrahman Al Khayyath, the Director of the Muslim World League for Indonesia, and Dr. Walid bin Abdullah Al Utsman, the Director of the Islamic and Arabic College of Indonesia (LIPIA); as well as other officials from LIPIA Prof. Abdullah M. Al-Ahmari and Habib Hud Alatas.

The meeting resulted in a potential partnership between UIII and the Rabitah 'Alam Islami in the academic field, especially in establishing an international conference, focusing on topics such as the role of Islam in countering terrorism.
Additionally, a potential cooperation was also addressed between UIII and LIPIA, facilitated by Rabitah 'Alam Islami. LIPIA has suggested involving Saudi scholars in scientific initiatives and discussed the possibility of Saudi students studying in Indonesia in the future.

During the discussion, Prof. Jamhari emphasized the need for Indonesian Islamic education to catch up with that of America and other Western countries, citing a lack of cooperation among Islamic nations. He expressed hope that Rabitah 'Alam Islami would foster unity among Islamic countries to advance Islamic higher education globally, thereby enhancing Indonesia's Islamic education.
