In its efforts to become a well-known research institution, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) continues to support its lecturers in conducting research in their fields of expertise. In 2026, the Directorate of Research and Cooperation funded 12 lecturers from five faculties.
Rector of UIII, Prof. Jamhari, shows his gratitude to all the recipients. He sees that the UIII lecturer is very productive in conducting scientific research. With this support, he hopes it will help them be more productive: “The productivity of our lecturers is high; this is a source of pride for us,” he said at the research contract signing.
He believes that with this funding, it will produce groundbreaking research findings and have an impact on society. Prof. Jamhari said that we were given a mandate by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology to produce research with a significant impact.
The impact in question can take the form of scientific publications in international journals, patents that can collaborate with industry, societal impact, and improved teaching quality at UIII.
“For example, a Master of Public Policy of Climate Change student is researching climate risk in the implementation of the Hajj… Hopefully, this research can enrich the references and cases that are found,” he said.
Director of Research and Cooperation, Saiful Umam, Ph.D., explained that this research funding represents UIII’s commitment to improving lecturer productivity. He will continue to support this program, ensuring its annual implementation, as it is crucial for UIII’s reputation.
He is also pleased that UIII lecturers receive significant research funding from external parties, both domestic and international. For example, in a research collaboration with the UIII Institute for Advanced Research (IFAR), they are studying the social impacts of palm oil plantations on communities around East Kalimantan.
Prof. Jamhari also hopes that we continue to expand our research partner to another Legal-Entity Higher Education Institution (PTN-BH). “I encourage lecturers to cooperate with other PTN-BH,” he said.
“Continue to be productive and active, hopefully we can continue to develop this campus,” he closed.
