Prof. Kamaruddin Amin Inaugurated as Secretary General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs

The Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia welcomed its new Secretary General, Prof. Dr. Phil. Kamaruddin Amin, MA, following his official inauguration at the ministry office in Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta on January 22, 2024. Prof. Amin succeeds Prof. Muhammad Ali Ramdhani, STP, M.T, who now holds the position of Head of the Agency for Religious Moderation and Human Resources Development (BMBPSDM).

UIII Rector, Prof. Jamhari, extended his congratulations and shared high hopes for Prof. Amin’s new role, particularly in spearheading bureaucratic reform at the ministry. “Congratulations to Prof. Kamaruddin Amin. I hope he can fulfil his duties to oversee bureaucratic reform at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. His extensive experience will undoubtedly help in making good strategic steps,” said Prof. Jamhari.

Prof. Amin’s involvement during the early establishment of Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) was also highlighted as a testament to his capability and commitment. “His involvement in the early formation of UIII gives us hope that he can help accelerate UIII’s development in the near future,” Prof. Jamhari added.

Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, University Secretary at UIII, expressed his gratitude for the appointment, stating, “the leadership of Prof. Kamaruddin Amin brings a renewed sense of energy to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. We are confident that this will strengthen the synergistic relationship between UIII and the ministry moving forward.”

The Rector also expressed his gratitude to Prof. Muhammad Ali Ramdhani for his contributions and support during his tenure as Secretary General. “Thank you to Prof. Muhammad Ali Ramdhani for his dedication and assistance. Best wishes as you take on your new responsibilities,” he concluded.

As an institution administered under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, UIII continues to benefit from the ministry’s guidance and support, ensuring its strategic growth and global outreach.
