Ministry of Religious Affairs Welcomes Prof. Dr. Suyitno as Director General of Islamic Education

Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Ag, has officially taken office as the Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The inauguration—held on January 22, 2024 at ministry office in Central Jakarta—marks a leadership transition, with Prof. Dr. H. Abu Rokhmad, M.Ag, now serving as the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance.

In his new role, Prof. Dr. Suyitno is expected to strengthen Islamic education across Indonesia, drawing on his extensive experience and academic background. As an Islamic higher institution overseen by Religious Affairs Ministry, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) offered the highest congratulations and best wishes for Prof. Suyitno’s new position.

“Congratulations to Prof. Suyitno on his new appointment. His extensive experience in managing Islamic education will undoubtedly empower him to seamlessly and efficiently adapt to his new responsibilities,” expressed UIII Rector Prof. Jamhari.

Prof. Jamhari also extended his congratulations to Prof. Dr. H. Abu Rokhmad who has left a significant legacy in the field of Islamic education. “Thank you to Prof. Abu Rokhmad for his support of UIII, and best wishes in his new role in offering opportunities to further strengthen community engagement initiatives,” expressed UIII Rector Prof. Jamhari.

The transition highlights continuity in the Ministry's efforts to enhance Islamic education and community guidance, both of which are pivotal for advancing religious harmony and educational excellence in Indonesia. With this leadership change, the Ministry of Religious Affairs looks forward to a renewed focus on fostering innovation and inclusivity in its educational policies and programs.
