Depok, January 6, 2025 – The Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag RI), especially through its Directorate of Islamic Higher Education (DIKTIS), have played pivotal roles in resolving land-related issues for the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII). This collaborative effort culminated in the handover and distribution of government assistance funds, marking a significant milestone in the university’s development.
Held at the UIII Rectorate Building in Depok, the event was attended by prominent figures, including the Director of DIKTIS, Prof. Dr. Phil. Sahiron, MA; UIII Secretary, Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim; Abdul Hanif, M.Pd.; Aida Fitriani, a representative from the West Java Provincial Government; and members of the Cimanggis Depok community.
Kemenag RI: Driving Resolution and Collaboration
The Ministry of Religious Affairs, represented by Prof. Sahiron, underscored its commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent process. He emphasized the ministry’s dedication to facilitating UIII’s growth while respecting the rights of the community involved.
“This is not just a resolution of land issues but a reflection of our shared vision for Indonesia’s future,” he stated. “We are grateful to all parties, including the local government, community leaders, and residents, for their cooperation and support.”
The process, which involved the disbursement of IDR 128 billion in compensation funds, adhered to the principles of justice and mutual respect, enabling a smooth transition for the land needed to develop UIII’s campus.
UIII’s Gratitude to Kemenag RI
Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, UIII Secretary, expressed the university’s deep appreciation for Kemenag RI’s leadership in navigating this complex issue.
“We owe a great debt of gratitude to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, particularly to the Director of Diktis, for guiding this process to its successful conclusion,” he said. “Their unwavering support has ensured that UIII can move forward as a symbol of Indonesia’s progress in education, science, and spirituality.”
Dr. Bamualim also thanked the West Java Provincial Government, local authorities, and the community for their collaboration, emphasizing that the event marked a historic moment for UIII.

Adding to the sentiment of gratitude, Abdul Hanif, M.Pd., highlighted the importance of collective effort in resolving the land issues.
“This event represents the culmination of a long journey to resolve the land challenges faced by UIII,” he remarked. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the UIII Rector, represented by Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim; the Director of Diktis, Prof. Sahiron; the West Java Provincial Government for overseeing and verifying the land; and the community members who worked tirelessly to finalize this process.”
Hanif also praised the willingness of the affected community to prioritize the nation’s greater good.

The West Java Provincial Government, represented by Aida Fitriani, also played a critical role in verifying land ownership and ensuring the compensation process adhered to legal frameworks. Aida presented Governor Regulation No. 593 of 2024, which outlined the recipients and mechanisms for fund distribution.
“This collaboration demonstrates the importance of unity between all levels of government and the people,” she remarked, further expressing her gratitude to those involved in finalizing the process.
