Thirty students of UIII participated in the fun walk of the 77th Hari Amal Bhakti (HAB), hosted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) on Saturday, January 14, 2023. The Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, opened the event, which was held in the Kemenag building. The theme of this year's HAB is "Kerukunan Umat untuk Indonesia Hebat."
UIII students, who were accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Nina Nurmila, showed their enthusiasm by participating in this fun walk. This is the first time UIII has participated in the HAB event. As a newly established campus, this kind of event can also promote UIII so that more and more people know about it. UIII also hopes to continue to participate in and enliven the HAB Kemenag events in the coming years.
At this event, UIII students also had the opportunity to see the Minister of Religious Affairs who was present at the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) stand, which is still in the Ministry of Religion Affairs area. Apart from that, UIII students also had the opportunity to meet and greet the Minister of Religious Affairs.
In his speech, the Minister of Religious Affairs spoke about the importance of respecting differences and avoiding division. "We are all together today; nothing is the same; everything is different. This shows that God wants us to be different. We are created differently. We were not created to be the same, the goal is for us to be united. "What is the same does not need to be differentiated; what is different does not need to be equated," said the Minister in Jakarta.
Hari Amal Bhakti is a commemoration of the establishment of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) that has been celebrated every third of January each year. The establishment of the MoRA is based on Minister of Religion Decree Number 6 of 1956, dated March 1, 1956, which states that the Religious Department was established on January 3, 1946.
At this event, religious leaders and community figures attended to declare the Declaration of Religious Peace. In addition, this event was also attended by civil servants (ASN) from the Ministry of Religion Headquarters, the Regional Offices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in West Java, Banten, and Jakarta, as well as the State Islamic Universities in Jakarta and its surroundings.
On this occasion, the Ministry has established a Declaration of Religious Peace. The Declaration of Religious Peace was read by Habib Husein Ja'far Al Hadar, an Indonesian influencer and preacher. In the declaration, the religious leaders present, as well as the civil servants of the Ministry of Religion, emphasized their resolve not to use houses of worship for campaigns or actual political actions.
The route of the fun walk starts from the Ministry of Religion, goes through Jalan Banteng Field, Jalan Pejambon, Jalan Perwira, Jalan Cathedral, Jalan Pos, Jalan Banteng Utara, and finishes back at the Ministry of Religion headquarter.
