Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) opens up opportunities for prospective students to pursue their Master's Degree (MA) and Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) programs for the 2023-2024 academic year. The four faculties—namely, the Faculty of Islamic Studies, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Education—opened the MA and Ph.D. programs.
From now on, applicants can register for admissions throughout the year. However, the application deadline for the 2023–2024 academic year is June 30th, 2023, at 23:59 GMT+7. The applicant will be notified of the application result via the UIII admissions official email, admissions@uiii.ac.id. The UIII new student admission program is opened through two schemes, namely the independent or self-funding pathway and the scholarship scheme for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The Rector of UIII, Prof. Dr. Komaruddin Hidayat emphasizes that the admission program through independent schemes and scholarships is open to Indonesian and foreign citizens who are able to demonstrate leadership qualities and a solid academic background. He added, even though UIII is an Islamic-labeled campus, the vision It carries is inclusive and universal. On that basis, Ulll students are not only Muslims but also from other religions. "The scholarship scheme that we offer is also non-discriminatory. Therefore, we invite potential students and young people from all over the world, regardless of national and religious backgrounds, not to miss this golden opportunity he said.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Rector for Academic, Human Resources, and Student Affairs of UIII, Bahrul Hayat, Ph.D explains that registration through an independent or self-funding scheme is opened to provide opportunities for prospective students who wish to study at the UIII campus at their own expense. As for the scholarship program, he says, what is currently offered is an Indonesian government scholarship managed by UIII and the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP). This scholarship is designed to provide scholarship assistance for Indonesian and foreign citizens to take Masters and Doctoral programs at UIII. The period of scholarship for the Master’s program is 2 years, and the number of MA scholarships available in the 2023/2024 academic year is 200 students. As for the Doctoral program, the scholarship period is up to 4 years, and the number of Ph.D scholarships available for the 2023/2024 academic year is 100 students. Scholarships for the Doctoral program, said Bahrul, came from (LPDP), specially designed for UIII.
The UIII scholarship program is financial aid for successful applicants only. Applicants can submit applications for Masters (MA) or Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs at one of the 4 (four) faculties currently available at UIII, namely the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Business, and Faculty of Education. At UIII, all academic and learning programs use English as the language of instruction. Especially for the Faculty of Islamic Studies, classes are also provided in Arabic in addition to English. Bahasa Indonesia is a requirement for students taking studies and research on Indonesia and Southeast Asia for thesis and dissertations.
Scholarship Requirements
Applicants for both the MA and Ph.D programs for all faculties from independent and scholarship schemes are required to have a certificate of English proficiency as demonstrated by an IELTS, TOEFL, or similar certificate. However, this requirement does not apply to applicants from English-speaking countries or graduates from universities that use English as the language of instruction in their studies. Applicants for the Faculty of Islamic Studies, both the MA and Ph.D programs, are required to have proficiency in Arabic as indicated by the TOAFL certificate. This requirement does not apply to applicants from Arabic-speaking countries or graduates from universities that use Arabic as the language of instruction in their studies.
Applicants from independent and scholarship schemes are required to attach academic transcripts with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 for Masters programs and 3.5 for Doctoral programs on a maximum scale of 4.0. Another requirement for registering for the Doctoral program at UIII is to submit a brief research proposal (4000-5000 words), examples of writing, or scientific research reports relevant to the choice of study or the latest articles published in scientific journals. In addition, applicants are required to attach 2 (two) letters of recommendation from authorities explaining why they deserve to continue studying at UIII. The authors of recommendation letters are people you know and know you well so they can explain properly and honestly about the academic potential that you have. Letters of recommendation are written in English.
