LDKPI Ready to Support UIII

UIII.AC.ID, DEPOK - On Friday, October 14, 2022, Indonesian Aid organization (LDKPI) of the Ministry of Finance has agreed to support Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) in granting a Graduate Scholarship Program for Afghani Students at UIII. This collaboration was marked by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Rector of UIII, Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat, and the President Director of LDKPI, Tormarbulang Lumbantobing.

LDKPI said that this collaboration is one of the ways to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 target on education. The commitment between the two institutions is to contribute financial support in the form of travel costs, while UIII will provide scholarships consisting of education and living costs to Afghani postgraduate students.

The Rector of UIII said that the collaboration is a form of implementation of UUD 45 to implement a world order based on freedom, eternal peace, and social justice. In addition, Indonesia, as one of the largest populations in the world, can be reflected upon in its role through this program.

Tormarbulang Lumbantobing welcomed this strategic collaboration and expressed his hope that this scholarship program could help increase the capacity of Afghanistan's human resources. Moreover, he says that together with UIII, this scholarship can promote Indonesia as a concrete example of the synergy of Islam, modernity, and progress that go together.

"We are very proud to be able to participate in this program. Next year, if there is, we are very open to collaborating to bring students to UIII," he said.

On this occasion, representatives of Afghan students, Samiullah Adel and Sarferaz Miakhil, who have studied at UIII, also shared their experiences and enthusiastic welcomes for scholarship programs from Indonesia, especially UIII.

President Director of LDKPI was accompanied by Azhar Basyir (Head of the Legal and Institutional Relations Division, LDKPI), Indro Bawono (Head of Distribution Implementation Division, LDKPI), and Iwan Nur Hidayat (Director of Investment and Fund Distribution, LDKPI).

LDKPI was warmly received by Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat (Rector of UIII), Prof. Jamhari Makruf (Vice-Rector for Research, Cooperation, and Community Engagement), Dadang Muljawan, Ph.D. (Vice-Rector for Planning, Finance, and Business Development), Prof. Amsal Bakhtiar (Director of Business Development), Rifqi Muna, Ph.D. (Chairman of the UIII Academic Senate), Dr. Phil.
