UIII Meets BRIN to Discuss Collaboration

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), led by Rector Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat, visited the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) office in Jakarta. This meeting discussed the potential for cooperation between UIII and BRIN to strengthen research in Indonesia.

In the discussion, BRIN stated that they're ready to support UIII's excellent research by providing resources and implementing joint programs. According to BRIN, this future program aligns with BRIN's concept as an institution that compiles and integrates the planning, implementation, and development of research in Indonesia.

In addition, UIII and BRIN talked about constructing a research center on the UIII campus. The structure of this research center will utilize resources from both institutions to produce research that can strengthen Indonesia. BRIN also expressed its commitment to providing their researcher for events in UIII, for example, guest lecturers, webinars, and forum group discussions (FGD).

If UIII wants to open academic program on sciences such as biotechnologies, BRIN says they're ready to support it by allowing UIII to use its laboratory facilities in Cibinong, West Java, not far from the UIII campus.

Soon, BRIN and UIII agreed to hold a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate the implementation of future cooperation programs.

The UIII visit was welcomed directly by the Head of BRIN Laksana Tri Handoko, Executive Secretary, Department of Human Resources Science and Technology (SDMI), Head of Research Organization for Social Sciences and Humanities (OR IPSH), Head of Archaeological Research Organization for Language and Literature (ORABS), Head of Research Organization for Economic Governance and Community Welfare (ORTKPEKM), and Head of the Bureau of Law and Cooperation (BHKS).

Meanwhile, the Rector of UIII visit was accompanied by Prof. Jamhari (Vice-Rector for Research, Collaboration, and Community Engagement), Bahrul Hayat, Ph.D., (Vice Rector for Academic, Human Resource, and Student Affairs), Dr. Philips J. Vermonte (Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences), and Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim (Director of UIII Central Library). (ANJ)
