Telkom Supports UIII to Become a Smart Campus

uiii.ac.id (Depok). The Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) and Telkom Indonesia have agreed to kick off a joint collaboration between the two institutions. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Rector of UIII, Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat, and the Director of Enterprise and Business Services, FM Venusiana R, at the UIII campus, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

The cooperation will include the digitalization programs for educational purposes at UIII. It is because the MoU is about Institutional Strengthening and Development of the Tridharma of Higher Education.

The scope of this MoU includes the provision, management, maintenance, development of telecommunication service product facilities, information, media, edutainment, digital connectivity, digital platforms, digital services, and implementation of cooperation in the fields of education, teaching, training, research, assessment, and improvement. Cooperation in the IT sector and developing other resources provide added value for both institutions.

Venusiana revealed that her institution wants to support UIII to become a smart campus in the future. In her view, this is in line with Telkom's tireless effort to support the digitalization of Indonesia.

"So, Telkom supports the digitalization of Indonesia. If UIII wants to transform into digital and become a smart campus, Telkom is ready to support it because we have collaborated a lot with other companies in terms of education. So we are ready to support campus digital transformation and make UIII a smart campus," she said.

She also expressed gratitude for entrusting Telkom Indonesia to become a part of UIII's digital transformation. In addition, she conveyed that Telkom will help the UIII missions to operate excellent post-graduate education through the provision of infrastructure for the implementation of Smart Campus Education, as well as the development of the campus and IT digitalization that is more effective, efficient, and secure.

Prof. Komaruddin expressed appreciation to Telkom for the cooperation. According to him, Telkom will help education operations at UIII, especially in implementing innovative education. Also, in fundamental and applied research to support the growth and development of UIII science and technology as a research center with particular expertise to answer strategic issues and future challenges.

He also expressed his hope that Telkom will always be a leader in supporting digital transformation in the education sector. "IT readiness is an important component for us in building UIII. In addition to developing innovative research and contributing to the development of science and public welfare, UIII is also our shared dream to advance Indonesian Islamic culture as a part of world civilization," concluded Prof. Dr. Komaruddin Hidayat.

At this event, Director of EBIS, Venusiana, accompanied by Executive Vice President of Enterprise Service Division, Teuku Muda Nanta, and General Manager of Education Management Services, Briliyan Farid Fatoni.
