Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) and the Depok City Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their cooperation on education and sustainability. The signing ceremony was held on December 10, 2024, represented by Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris and UIII Rector Prof. Jamhari.
The MoU focuses on collaboration in education, research, and the creation of green open spaces within the UIII area to promote sustainable development. It aims to benefit both UIII’s academic community and the residents of Depok, fostering a more innovative and eco-friendly city.
Prof. Jamhari expressed his gratitude for the Depok City Government’s longstanding support. “The Depok City Government has been involved in UIII’s development from the very beginning,” he said. “Their continued support has been invaluable.”
Mayor Mohammad Idris welcomed the partnership, emphasizing its alignment with Depok’s vision for advancing education and urban development. This MoU reinforces joint efforts to achieve mutual goals of academic excellence and sustainable growth.
UIII aims to become a green campus through its 'Seed Seedling Orchard' initiative, an ongoing project in collaboration with the Ministry of Forestry and Environment and the Forestry Faculty of Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta. This initiative highlights UIII’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, aligning with national and global green campus goals.
UIII has already received thousands of trees as part of the plan to plant 18,000 trees and plants across more than 20 hectares of green open spaces in various areas of the UIII campus.
