Elevating Trust, Excellence, and Integrity at UIII: Prof. Jamhari’s Vision for the Future

Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) hosted a full-team gathering at the Lecture Hall of the Rectorate on Thursday, January 9, 2024. The meeting, attended by university staff and officials, was led by UIII Rector Prof. Jamhari and featured a special lecture by former Rector, Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Jamhari outlined UIII's vision and mission, emphasizing the importance of building a shared sense of purpose among all staff. He highlighted UIII's ambition to serve as a bridge between Indonesia and the world, expanding global recognition of the country beyond its well-known destinations.

“UIII has the potential to elevate Indonesia's global recognition. In the future, people from all over the world will come here to study, and through our education, we will open doors for a deeper understanding of Indonesia and the world,” said Prof. Jamhari.

During the meeting, Prof. Jamhari emphasized the importance of trust, credibility, and striving for excellence as core elements of UIII’s work culture. He urged staff to maintain integrity and foster an anti-corruption culture within the university.

“I ask everyone to uphold integrity. When we talk about an anti-corruption culture, we need to embrace three principles: I don’t want to be corrupt, I don’t need to be corrupt, and I don’t dare to be corrupt,” he said.

The lecture also featured a special speaker, Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat, who served as UIII Rector from 2019 to 2023. In his lecture, Prof. Hidayat discussed the significance of integrity as a fundamental value that must be upheld in any setting.

“Integrity is embedded within us wherever we are. It must go hand-in-hand with competence and adaptability,” he explained, encouraging staff to continuously learn and adapt to challenges.

The meeting concluded with a Q&A session, where staff members had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, seeking clarity and insights on the university's goals and values. This annual gathering reaffirmed UIII's dedication to achieving excellence through a culture of integrity, collaboration, and shared vision. It set the stage for the university’s continued progress in 2025 and beyond.
