Yanuar Firdaus Arie Wibowo, MT, Head of the IT Center at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), recently took part in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on revitalizing IT to support the global standing of State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) in Indonesia.

The event, hosted by UIN KHAS Jember from September 26th to 28th, 2024, brought together IT leaders from across Indonesia. The FGD’s output provides key recommendations on how to enhance IT infrastructure at PTKIN institutions to improve their national and international standing.

A major point at the FGD was the role of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. SPBE aims to standardize and enhance the IT services of PTKIN institutions, fostering better governance and improving public service delivery. Mr. Yanuar, along with other participants, examined how UIII and other institutions could adopt these standards to streamline operations and boost their reputation.

Vendor presentations were also a crucial part of the event, with various IT service providers showcasing innovative solutions in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital platforms for higher education. These sessions offered participants valuable insights into how these technologies could be applied at their respective institutions to enhance digital capabilities.

As Head of the IT Center, Mr. Yanuar contributed insights on UIII’s digital infrastructure and its alignment with long-term goals, particularly the importance of integrating cutting-edge technology with academic and administrative systems.

Through active participation in this FGD, UIII demonstrated its ongoing commitment to strengthening the university’s IT infrastructure in ways that align with its mission to become the world’s leading Islamic university.
