UIII, DEPOK - A meeting was held between members of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) and delegates from the Directorate General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to evaluate the Dual Degree Program organized by UIII and the University of Edinburgh, UK.

Held at the UIII Campus in Depok, West Java, the meeting addressed the readiness of the 14 students from the first batch of the dual degree program to depart for the Al Waleed Center at the University of Edinburgh. This departure is expected to take place in the second year of the two-year study program.

Mr. Muhammad Aziz Hakim, a representative from the Ministry’s Directorate General of Islamic Education, emphasized the importance of UIII’s role in preparing the awardees. He stated that his team would help monitor the program’s progress to ensure its continuity for years to come.

In its initial year, the program admitted 14 out of 34 total applicants from the MA in Islamic Studies program. The selected students have completed intensive English language training and prepared all required documents to continue their studies in the MSc in The Globalized Muslim World program at the University of Edinburgh.

First initiated in 2023, the Dual Degree Program offers an MA in Islamic Studies at UIII and an MSc in The Globalized Muslim World at the University of Edinburgh. This initiative aligns with UIII’s mission to provide international-standard graduate education and enhance international cooperation.

During the meeting, the potential establishment of another Dual Degree Program between the Faculty of Islamic Studies and other international university partners was also discussed, with the aim of advancing UIII's educational progress in the future.
