Ambassador of Sudan in Indonesia, His Excellency (H.E.) Dr. Yassir Mohamed Ali Mohammed, visited UIII to discuss the establishment partnership with UIII on Tuesday, August 2, 2023.
It is his second time attending UIII after he attended the event “Islam in the Face of Global Challenges: Perspectives from the First International Forum on New Directions in the Study of Islam” in May 2023.
He explained that the Embassy of Sudan in Jakarta will help establish bridges to the universities in Sudan, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The partnership will be in academics, to bring Sudanese students and lecturers to UIII and vice versa.
"Now, I am here specifically as a diplomatic visit from the Sudanese Embassy in Jakarta, to build cooperation with UIII because this campus, Insha Allah, has a bright future, especially in the fields of social sciences, and humanities in the Muslim world," he said.
In his view, UIII has a positive energy and will be a great university in the future. With a magnificent building, as well as an exciting learning environment. He believes that there will be many students who come to UIII from within and outside the country to study in the fields of social sciences and humanities in the Muslim world.
“We hope that this campus [UIII] will have a good function in line with the vision and mission so that this campus will be known all over the Islam world,” he said.
At this meeting, the Rector of UIII accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Research, and Community Engagement, Prof. Jamhari; the Secretary of UIII, Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim; and Senate of Academic, Academic Senate Chairman of UIII, M. Rifqi Muna Ph.D.
