UIII.AC.ID, DEPOK - The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Mr. Zainudin Amali, visited UIII campus again, and this time gave UIII 100 bicycles as a gesture of support. The event was named "Bicycle Entrustment Ceremony," and it took place in the morning on March 7, 2022, at the UIII Faculty A Building’s parking lot.
The presence of Indonesia’s Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs was warmly welcomed by university and Faculty leaders, as well as the students. All of the students (domestic and international) have lived at the Student Residence Hall since February 28, 2022. Some of these students have completed their quarantine days to comply with the government's health policies during the pandemic.
The Rector of UIII, Professor Komaruddin Hidayat, gave the opening speech, saying: "UIII was purposefully created as a green campus, so when the people living inside want to do their activity, they would need a bicycle, or strolling." The Minister, who believes UIII was established as a green and environmentally friendly campus, agreed with Rector UIII’s comments.
"We (the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs) will gladly support UIII if it is needed." At the end of his remarks, the Minister said that this is evidence of the government's full support for the UIII campus.
After giving the Rector a bicycle as a symbolic gesture, the Minister expressed his gratitude and stated that it would be an honor for him if UIII sent another invitation again in the future. This was his second visit to UIII, he had previously visited on June 18, 2021.
The event ended with the Rector and Deans from each faculty entrusting bicycles to a student representative. With this bicycle entrustment, it is intended that all civitas academica of UIII will be able to undertake their activities on the UIII campus while maintaining their commitment to living healthy and living on a green campus by riding bicycles.
