January 21, 2022

UIII.AC.ID, DEPOK - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan (LBP), visited the UIII campus on Thursday, January 20, 2022. This visit was aimed at monitoring and discussing the construction of the UIII campus before its grand launching by President Joko Widodo sometime in the middle of this year.

After walking around looking at the library building, mosque, and Rectorate, as well as the progress of the UIII campus construction, the Minister held a special meeting with Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat, the Rector of UIII, and his colleagues. The discussion was carried out in the smart meeting room located in the Faculty Building A.

The UIII Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Research, and Institutions, Prof. Jamhari Makruf, had the opportunity to present reports on UIII's most recent developments related to infrastructure, study programs, teaching staff, and students.

In response to this, LBP sees that the UIII construction process, which will be completed soon, needs to be accelerated. He saw the great potential of UIII, namely to become one of the leading centers of world Islamic civilization that makes Indonesia proud, and will accommodate many Muslim scholars.

The Rector of UIII, Professor Komaruddin Hidayat emphasized that the development of UIII must be able to focus on three important things, namely Islamic, Indonesian and international aspects. LBP hopes that, by collaborating with world-class universities, these three things can be realized soon.

Through this visit, LBP is committed to continuing to support UIII in its development period and in the future. Support will begin with cooperation assistance with universities, academics, and foreign students.
