UIII Rector Inaugurated the Dean of the Faculty of Education

UIII.AC.ID, DEPOK - Prof. Dra. Hj. Nina Nurmila, M.A, Ph.D was officially inaugurated as the Dean of the Faculty of Education by UIII Rector, Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat on Friday (30/07). The hybrid inauguration ceremony took place at UIII Student Residence Hall, Depok and through Zoom Meeting platform by implementing a strict Covid-19 prevention protocol.

The oath taking was witnessed by the Secretary of UIII, Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Dian Masyita, PhD. Limited participants including the family of the new dean attended the ceremony offline, while others including UIII officials were present online.

The Rector welcomed and expressed his gratitude, hoping that the newly elected dean will dedicate and commit herself to take part in the development and advancement of UIII as a new higher education institution, especially in the Faculty of Education which aims to provide an interdisciplinary overview of the major philosophical, theoretical and empirical issues in education, development and policy.

“As the name suggests, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia bears three crucial identities altogether: Islam, International and Indonesia. It is a massive responsibility and finding ways to realize our vision and mission will not be easy without strong collaborations across disciplines and different units,” Komaruddin said in his remarks.

Komaruddin really hopes that in the near future, UIII can be an excellent model in showing that Islam and international values can synergize and exist side-by-side, and additionally show that Indonesian civilization can make significant contributions to Islamic and international civilization.

Furthermore, Komaruddin stressed the importance of carrying out the Three Pillars of Higher Education (locally known as Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), namely Education, Research and Community Service to all civitas academica of UIII.

The inauguration ceremony then ended with closing prayers after the remarks after which the Rector and other attendees congratulated the new dean. (aa)
