Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) hosted an online pre-departure session for the incoming cohort of students. The event, held via Zoom on September 6, 2024, was led by officials from the UIII International Office and Student Affairs, aiming to prepare the 244 newly accepted students from 28 countries for their academic journey at the university.

The session was attended by Muhammad Yazid, Lc, Head of the UIII International Office and Student Affairs, along with officers Rivaldy Sandika Putro, B.HSc, and Dewi Maryam, MA. The event covered a comprehensive range of topics essential for the student's successful transition to life in Indonesia.

The session began with a warm welcome and introductions, setting a positive tone for the students’ new academic adventure. Following this, the officials provided detailed explanations about visa and immigration procedures, ensuring that all students are well-prepared for their entry into Indonesia. The discussion also included information on living in Indonesia, covering practical aspects such as travel and accommodation, which are crucial for a smooth transition.

In addition to logistical details, the session highlighted health and safety measures, offering guidance on how to stay safe and healthy during their stay. The officials also touched on the academic and non-academic life at UIII, giving students a glimpse into what they can expect and how they can thrive in both areas.

This year’s cohort includes students from diverse backgrounds, hailing from countries such as Pakistan, the Gambia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Ghana, the Philippines, Somalia, India, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Yemen, Madagascar, Egypt, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Morocco, Palestine, South Africa, Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda, the USA, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

UIII, as an institution, demonstrates its commitment to student well-being by ensuring that students are well-informed and supported even before their academic life begins. The pre-departure session is just one of the many ways UIII takes care of its students, helping them to feel welcomed and prepared as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.
