Depok, August 19, 2026 — Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) held an online Pre-Departure Session 2026 for its incoming 2026 cohort on August 19, 2026. Conducted via Zoom from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. WIB, the session was organized by the Office for Student Affairs and International Services to provide essential information and practical guidance to students ahead of their arrival and academic journey at UIII. 

This year, UIII is welcoming approximately 250 new students from 16 countries, including Afghanistan, Chad, The Gambia, Ghana, India, Pakistan, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Uzbekistan. The diversity of the incoming cohort reflects UIII’s international academic environment and its commitment to welcoming students from different backgrounds. 

The session was led by Muhammad Yazid, Lc., Head of Student Affairs and International Services, together with OSIS staff members Rivaldy Sandika Putro, B.Hsc., Dewi Maryam, M.A., Nadya Maharani, M.Sc. The session covered a comprehensive range of topics designed to help students prepare for their transition to Indonesia and their life at UIII. 

The Pre-Departure Session served not only as an information sharing platform but also as an interactive forum where incoming students could ask questions, seek clarification, and share concerns regarding their upcoming journey to Indonesia and their transition to university life at UIII. 

The session began with information on pre-arrival preparations, including accommodation, essential personal and academic items, transportation planning, travel documents, and maintaining communication with their assigned UIII Peers. Students were guided on the important documents and items they should prepare and bring, including passports, Indonesian e-Visas, Letters of Acceptance, flight tickets, boarding passes, prescriptions, and payment cards. 

Following the pre-arrival guidance, the session provided information on procedures upon arrival in Indonesia, including IMEI registration, obtaining an e-money card, transportation from the airport to UIII, and dormitory check-in. Students were also introduced to the steps they would need to take after arriving at UIII, including reporting to the OSIS Office, completing academic and scholarship-related procedures, meeting their faculty and study program representatives, and becoming familiar with campus facilities and their surroundings. 

In addition to practical arrangements, the session introduced students to Indonesian culture and etiquette, health and safety, and academic and non-academic life at UIII. Students received guidance on cultural adaptation, respectful communication, health insurance, emergency contacts, and available health services. They were also introduced to UIII’s  academic systems, library, student organizations, clubs, and societies. 

The session also saw active participation from incoming students, with more than 50 questions raised throughout the session. Many of the inquiries focused on visa procedures, flight tickets and travel arrangements, and scholarship related matters. The active exchange allowed students to gain further clarification on matters that were particularly relevant to their preparation for studying and living in Indonesia. 

The session concluded with information about the Academic Convocation and Orientation Week, scheduled for September 1–4, 2026, which will officially welcome new students and introduce them to UIII’s academic culture and campus life. Students were also informed that classes are scheduled to begin on September 7, 2026. 

Through the Pre-Departure Session 2026, UIII reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that incoming students are well-informed and supported even before their arrival in Indonesia. By combining practical guidance, information sharing, and an interactive question-and-answer session, the program aims to help students feel more prepared, confident, and welcomed as they begin a new chapter of their academic journey at UIII.
