Jakarta, March 11, 2025 — Students from Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) took a significant step from classroom theories to real-world practices during a study visit to CIMB Niaga’s Main Office in Jakarta. Organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Student Association (ESA UIII), the visit served as a gateway for students to deepen their understanding of banking operations and sustainable finance practices.
The visit to CIMB Niaga, one of Indonesia’s top banking institutions, was part of a broader educational outing that also included cultural stops at the Istiqlal Mosque and the Benhil Food Market in Central Jakarta. The tour offered a holistic learning experience, blending academic enrichment with cultural and social exploration.
At CIMB Niaga, students were welcomed by the bank’s senior management and treated to an exclusive look at the institution’s internal workings. The visit began with a comprehensive presentation that introduced the students about CIMB Niaga’s business model, digital innovation, and sustainability-driven strategies. With a special focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, the session highlighted how the bank integrates green finance, ethical investment, and customer-centric digital solutions into its daily operations.
Such real-world exposure offered UIII students valuable insights into how theories discussed in the classroom, such as financial ethics, risk management, and sustainable investment, are practically implemented in a leading financial institution. Additionally, a guided tour through CIMB’s operational departments further complemented their practical understanding on how different teams collaborate to deliver seamless banking services.
By bridging academic learning with industry experience, this study visit reflected UIII’s commitment to preparing students for the demands of the professional world. It also created a platform for meaningful interaction between students and banking professionals, opening pathways for internships, mentorship, and future careers in the finance sector.
