UIII is strengthening its role in the national education landscape by officially joining the Council of Professors of State Universities with Legal Entities (MDGB PTNBH). Five representatives from the UIII Academic Senate attended the council’s meeting held on September 19-20, 2024 at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in Bandung, West Java.
Chaired by Prof. Dr. Andi Pangerang Moenta, S.H., M.H., DFM, the council now consists of 22 state universities with UIII being the only institution under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, while the other universities fall under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology such as Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Institute Tekhnologi Bandung (ITB)
The State Universities with Legal Entities, locally known as Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Hukum (PTNBH), are public universities established by the government of the Republic of Indonesia with autonomous legal status, allowing them greater flexibility in governance and operations. This autonomy is aimed at improving the quality of education and research, fostering innovation, and enhancing global competitiveness.
UIII’s delegation included M. Rifqi Muna, PhD, Head of the Academic Senate; Prof. Dian Masyita, PhD, Secretary of the Academic Senate, Vice-Rector Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim, and other members including Dr. M. Ilyas Marwal, M.M., D.E.S.A., and Faried F. Saenong, Ph.D. They were accompanied by Muammar Kadafi, MA, Head of Academic Administration.
The gathering focused on discussing the future of higher education in Indonesia, sharing best practices, and fostering collaboration among PTNBH institutions. Key topics included enhancing academic quality, promoting research and innovation, and strengthening international partnerships.UIII’s engagement with other leading PTNBH institutions is crucial for its institutional advancement.
By being part of this prestigious council, UIII can further its mission to remain at the forefront of academic excellence and innovation, contributing significantly to the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.
