Depok City, Indonesia — The ongoing clearance of land for the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) marks a significant milestone in the establishment of a globally recognized Islamic academic institution. With the relocation process well underway, government officials emphasize that this initiative is about much more than land—it is about ensuring that Indonesia takes a leading role in international Islamic scholarship.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag RI), which oversees the project, has been keen to ensure that the land clearance is conducted with fairness and dignity. Prof. Arskal Salim, Secretary of the Directorate General of Islamic Education at Kemenag, highlighted the government's commitment to an ethical and cooperative process.

"This is an important step in finalizing the land for UIII. It is not simply a matter of clearing space but ensuring that the process respects the rights and dignity of the residents," he explained. "Our approach has been to engage with the community so they feel included in this national initiative to build a world-class Islamic university."

For many, the move is not just about relocation but about contributing to a vision of the future—one that places Indonesia at the center of global Islamic education.

As UIII continues to take shape, the university aims to become a hub for advanced research, interfaith dialogue, and academic collaboration among scholars from around the world. This initiative represents more than just a construction project—it is an investment in Indonesia’s intellectual and spiritual leadership on the global stage.
