Comenius University Bratislava and UIII Set to Embark on a Promising Partnership

Depok, uiii.ac.id – Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) is on the verge of an exciting new collaboration with Comenius University Bratislava. On Thursday, October 3, 2024, a delegation from the esteemed Slovak university, led by Mr. Milan Regec and accompanied by the Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia, H.E. Pribadi Sutiono, visited UIII, sparking a bright future of academic cooperation between the two institutions.

Prof. Jamhari, Rector of UIII, warmly welcomed the delegation at the UIII Rectorate Building, expressing his enthusiasm for the visit. He emphasized how this partnership aligns perfectly with UIII’s vision of global academic cooperation. "We are thrilled to explore this partnership and the many opportunities it will bring to our universities," he said.

Milan Regec shared his excitement about future collaborations, noting that his return to Slovakia will include reaching out to departments related to Islamic studies, information science, and library development.

“Collaborating with UIII offers a fantastic opportunity for Slovakians to engage with Islam through the uniquely rich and diverse lens of Indonesia. Indonesia, as the world's largest Muslim-majority nation, provides a perspective unlike any other,” Milan remarked with enthusiasm.

In an inspiring addition to the academic collaboration, Ambassador Pribadi Sutiono revealed new opportunities for UIII beyond the university. He shared the growing interest of two Islamic organizations in Slovakia to host seminars on halal food.

“These organizations, one primarily composed of local converts and the other of migrants, are keen to learn about halal practices. This is a fantastic chance for UIII to share its knowledge and expertise,” the ambassador noted, brimming with optimism.

Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim, Acting Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at UIII, eagerly supported the idea. “We are proud that Indonesia is a leader in halal certification, and we would love to share our expertise through seminars or workshops. It's a brilliant way to deepen this connection,” he added.

Prof. Jamhari reinforced the excitement surrounding the meeting, envisioning a triangular collaboration between universities and Indonesian businesses in Slovakia. "We see this as the beginning of something truly remarkable," he expressed with confidence.

To cap off the meeting, Milan Regec presented a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for UIII to review, signaling the start of this promising partnership. He also pledged his support in helping UIII identify the best academic and business partners in Slovakia, further strengthening the ties between the two institutions. []
