UIII Endowment Fund Officially Launched to Boost University’s Growth

During its second commencement ceremony on August 29, 2024, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) marked another significant milestone with the official launch of the UIII Endowment Fund, designed to provide sustainable financial support for the university's educational and research initiatives.
The UIII Endowment Fund was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, former Vice President of Indonesia and Chairman of the UIII Board of Trustees. In his opening address, Dr. Kalla emphasized the fund’s importance in advancing education, research, and sustainable development for the betterment of UIII.
"In countries like the US, universities such as Harvard boast substantial financial resources, often surpassing those of private companies, largely due to their robust endowment funds. These funds are essential for ensuring the stability and sustainability of the university,” said Dr. Kalla in his opening remark.
The endowment fund aims to support various initiatives, including scholarships, research grants, and infrastructure development. With a long-term vision, UIII expects the fund to grow steadily, fostering academic excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Jamhari, UIII’s Rector, expressed optimism about the fund’s impact, saying that the university has created a bank account dedicated to it. “It has now Rp1 billion. Our goal is to create a vibrant ecosystem where students thrive, faculty excel, and research flourishes. The endowment fund will enable us to attract top talent, enhance facilities, and contribute to global knowledge networks.”
As UIII continues to expand its international partnerships and engage in collaborative efforts with other universities, the endowment fund is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the university’s trajectory. With a commitment to sustainability and narrative economics, UIII envisions a future where its graduates lead positive change worldwide.
