Preparing for Academic Excellence: UIII and University of Dundee Dual Degree Program

UIII, Jakarta - On March 7, 2024, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) and the University of Dundee signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities. The Rector of UIII, Professor Jamhari, and Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dundee, Professor Iain Gillespie, signed this MoU at the British Council Indonesia Foundation, Jakarta.

From this MoU, UIII, and the University of Dundee, will establish a Masters Degree Dual Degree Program for Islamic Finance in the future. The chosen student will have the opportunity to finish a study MA in Economics at UIII for one year and another year at the University of Dundee and undertake one of the following five Islamic Finance programs: 

  1. MSc Islamic Finance
  2. MSc Islamic Banking and Finance
  3. MSc Islamic Banking, Finance, and International Business
  4. MSc Islamic Finance and the Digital Economy
  5. MSc Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Islamic Finance

Professor Ian said the two universities will be a growing partnership to promote social purpose. He sees that Islamic finance is the core of social purpose to take development forward and promote economic growth.

"What I hope will be a growing partnership between us to promote what I think about is social purpose. Islamic finance is absolutely the core of social purpose at the core of helping us take forward development, and economic growth in a way that is in line with all of our expectations," he said.

The Principal said that the University of Dundee expects to transform lives, and he sees it at UIII to help. "My university expectations are about transforming lives, and your university expectations are really exciting in that space. It's the first step. I'm sure it won't be the last step, but it is a first step towards mutual success," Prof. Iain said.

Professor Ian was delighted to welcome all students from UIII to Dundee in the future. He said that Dundee would be a marvelous and exciting place. "I'm delighted to welcome all students from UIII to Dundee in that very marvelous and exciting place in the future," he closed.
