On December 5, 2024, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) hosted the Ambassador of Singapore to Indonesia, H.E. Kwok Fook Seng, for a visit that highlighted the shared priorities of Singapore and Indonesia in tackling climate change.

He was welcomed by UIII Rector, Prof. Jamhari, alongside Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim, Acting Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Sonny Mumbunan, Ph.D., head of the university’s Master of Public Policy Program in Climate Change, Saiful Umam, Ph.D., Director of Research and Cooperation.

As part of his visit, Ambassador Kwok engaged in a lively discussion with students from the Master of Public Policy Program in Climate Change. The forum, titled “Climate Change and Public Policy Challenges: Singapore-Indonesia Solutions,” provided a platform for dialogue about the complex and often interconnected challenges both nations face.

Beyond the discussion, the Ambassador toured the university’s key landmarks, including the Joko Widodo Rectorate Building, the Jusuf Kalla Library, and the Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin Mosque.
