Students and Staff Participate in Independence Day Competitions and Games on Campus

Depok, August 17, 2024 – The UIII campus buzzed with excitement this week as the 79th Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence was celebrated with a series of fun and engaging activities. The festivities began on Friday morning, August 16th, 2024, under a hot, shining sun, with a formal ceremony on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, followed by various games and competitions that reflected both traditional and national pride.


The ceremony opened with the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," and a speech from the UIII Rector, Prof. Dr. Jamhari, who commended the organizers and participants for their enthusiasm and dedication. Dr. Chaider Bamualim, UIII's University Secretary, said that, "today, we celebrate not just our independence, but the unity and diversity that define our nation," he said. 

After the ceremony, the campus grounds became the stage for various activities, including a traditional clothing and national fashion competition that saw participants donning colorful and elaborate attire representing Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.

The event also featured classic games, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. With over 150 people participating, the day was a memorable one, concluding with the announcement of winners, prize distributions, and a group photo to capture the joyful moments.
