Housing

Types of student housing in Depok include UIII Student Housing and Residence halls (for single students), UIII family housing (which accommodates some married students and their dependents), and off-campus rooms and houses.

On-Campus Housing

UIII Student Housing and Residence is a great option for students. Residence halls offer on-campus housing and meal plans for all students.

UIII Student Housing and Residence is designed to provide learning environments where all students feel safe, and involved in social and academic engagements.

Most residents share a room with one or two other people, assigned to a room at random. These dorms are furnished with basic furniture and are convenient for academic buildings. Total room, board, and associated costs are included in one bill each semester.

Off-Campus Housing

Off-campus rooms and houses are plentiful but sometimes more expensive than dorms. A lease is almost always required and usually ranges from 6 to 12 months.

Things to consider when moving off-campus:

  • Will rent be paid monthly or yearly and to whom?
  • Are any utilities (water, electricity, internet, etc.) included? How do you set these up? If not included, how much more can you expect to pay monthly?
  • How long is the lease period?
  • If renting a room from someone, what parts of the house can you use?
  • If you have roommates or you are leasing from a person/company, discuss your living arrangements: how to split costs and chores, who is responsible for paying for which utilities, whether and when it’s fine to have guests, and whether smoking is permitted?
  • Proximity to campus and grocery/convenience stores (is it close enough to walk? How long is the commute time?)
  • How close is public transportation?
  • Are furnishings provided?
  • How safe is the neighborhood?
  • If you have children, how far are their school or childcare providers?
