Depok – The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) has donated a shuttle bus to the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) through the 2026 Program Kemaslahatan in Depok, West Java. The agency said the aim was to facilitate mobility for the campus’s large international community and support its outreach work in the surrounding area.

The vehicle, funded through the agency’s social programs, was handed over at the UIII campus on Monday morning, October 19, 2026. The BPKH Kemaslahatan (Public Benefit) Program distributes returns generated from the management of the Dana Abadi Umat (Endowment Fund for the Muslim Community), which is managed professionally and responsibly.

The BPKH Kemaslahatan Program is an initiative to distribute the value derived from the management of the Hajj Fund for the benefit of the Indonesian Muslim community. This distribution covers seven areas: Hajj pilgrimage services, education and dakwah (Islamic outreach), healthcare, religious facilities and infrastructure, economic empowerment of the Muslim community, disaster response, and socio-religious activities.

The Rector of UIII, Prof. Jamhari, welcomed the initiative, saying the program would help UIII reach a wider area and serve the community. “This program is very beneficial because it helps educational institutions like the Indonesian International Islamic University move their lecturers and students across a wider region,” he said.

Prof. Jamhari said that about half of UIII’s students are from abroad and regularly carry out community service in Depok and at nearby educational institutions. “They need a vehicle, and this assistance from BPKH greatly supports the initiative,” he said. He also thanked the agency for its continued support for education. “We should be grateful that BPKH continues to care about educational institutions by using its community funds,” he said.

BPKH Executive Board member Dr. Indra Gunawan, who oversees securities and gold investment, portfolio analysis, transaction settlement, and placement, represented the agency at the event.

He said that as many as 60 percent of UIII’s students come from overseas, mostly from Muslim-majority countries in Africa, Central Asia, and South Asia, including Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Because of this international makeup, he said, he hoped the campus could serve as a platform for both diplomacy and education, showing the world Indonesia’s moderate, values-driven Islam.

“We hope that the procurement of this shuttle bus will further improve the mobility of UIII’s academic community,” Indra said. He added that better transportation would enhance productivity and support the work of “the nation’s children and the international generation” on campus.

PPPA Daarul Qur’an also supported the initiative by helping to facilitate the process. Dwi Kartika Ningsih, President Director of PPPA Daarul Qur’an, said that the organization was pleased to support BPKH’s program and hoped the shuttle bus would be put to the best possible use.
