Pasuruan – Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) conducted a Community Engagement activity over two days with the theme “From Data to Digital: Econometrics Literacy and Digital Entrepreneurship Training”. The event was located in Universitas Yudharta Pasuruan, East Java, on the 26th and 27th of September 2026.
This event aimed to equip students with a wide variety of fields, which consist of digital entrepreneurship, data analysis, and the use of technology in their daily lives. The participants consisted of students from different backgrounds, namely economics, management, and administration.
The event was organized as part of UIII’s 2026 community engagement initiative, and the program was led by Dr. Rininta Nurrachmi, a faculty member at FEB UIII, including another team member, Muhammad Dzaki Dhiya Ulhaq, Anza Zahya Qeysha, and Faridah Awwaliyyah. Conducted in collaboration with Universitas Yudharta Pasuruan, the initiative aimed to bridge academic knowledge and practical applications while encouraging students to explore opportunities in an increasingly digital and data-driven economy.
On the first day, a topic on Digital Entrepreneurship instruction was conveyed by a master’s student from the Faculty of Education, UIII – Anza Zahya Qeysha. It discussed marketing through digital media and platforms such as social commerce. The participants were also trained to create content for a company and a financial report. After sharing the topic on concept, the instructor provided some exercises in order to implement the concept and create plans to assist them with marketing. They were assigned to share their business concept and presented to others.

On the second day, the topic of Data and Econometrics Literacy was shared by Muhammad Dzaki Dhiya Ulhaq, a PhD student in Economics at UIII. In his session, all participants were introduced to applying data analysis using the RStudio program, which covered data import, regression analysis, interpretation of statistical results, and basic economic forecasting using Indonesian datasets. They were also introduced to the responsibility of accessing information through Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools wisely in obtaining code in the RStudio application, data processing, and interpreting statistical results.
The program also provided beneficial knowledge to the participants. Based on the assessments through a survey conducted pre- and post-training, all participants indicated significant improvement in their understanding of both digital entrepreneurship and econometrics. The findings also highlighted the value of practical, hands-on learning in assisting students to develop new competencies, even when they had limited knowledge of the topic conveyed.
Beyond the technical sessions, the program provided information to all participants to enrol in UIII as a postgraduate student to enhance their academic skills and research development. The opportunities can be achieved through scholarship pathways which are available at UIII.
The two-day program highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary learning by combining digital entrepreneurship and data literacy within a single community engagement program. It also strengthened academic connections between UIII and Universitas Yudharta Pasuruan through practical training, learning collaboration, and knowledge exchange.
