Dr. Philips J.
Vermonte is the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the
UIII. Dr. Vermonte has been serving as Executive Director of the Centre for
Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Indonesia, a premier think tank in
Indonesia and the Southeast Asia and Pacific region. He was a Fulbright scholar
and holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Politics from the Northern Illinois University
in the U.S. He previously studied at the University of Adelaide in Australia
for his M.A. in International Studies degree. His research interests include comparative politics, elections, party systems, voting behavior,
democratization, and foreign policy. Dr. Vermonte has also served as Chairman
of the Indonesian Pollsters Association (Persepi) for two terms, since 2016.
