Nia Deliana


About Me

Nia Deliana was born and raised in Aceh. She completed her master and doctoral programs in Malaysia. Currently she teaches at the social sciences faculty of the Indonesian Islamic International University (UIII), Depok, Indonesia.
Before joining UIII she worked as part time teacher in Malaysia and Turkey, and was a humanitarian aid worker post the 2004 Aceh Tsunami and Earthquake disaster where she dedicated her times in Bumi Sehat Bali non-profit disaster relief organization presided by the CNN Hero of the year winner, Robin Lim, and Aceh Cultural Institute led by the late Human Right Minister of Indonesia, Hasballah M Saad. She co-founded a non-profit organization, Aceh and Turkey Cultural Centre, domiciled in the capital of Aceh province for ten years.
Besides engaging in community programs, she writes commentaries and journal papers diversely in multidisciplinary approach on history, politics, and international relations with the focus geography of the historical Indian Ocean. Her writings can be viewed at https://niadeliana.com/.
