The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UIII) recently organized a community service activity at Sekolah Terbuka Madani in Kukusan, Beji, Depok. The program focused on training students to develop practical business ideas, which were structured using the Business Model Canvas framework. Divided into six groups, the participants presented their ideas in front of a panel of judges, with the top three groups selected as winners based on the quality and feasibility of their concepts.

This project was supervised by the Head of MA in Economics program, Associate Professor M. Luthfi Hamidi, Ph.D., who also served as one of the judges for the student presentations on business ideas. The event took place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the FEB-UIII campus in Depok. Prof. Luthfi remarked, “It’s great to see the intelligent business ideas presented by the students. The collaboration with FEB-UIII students has been quite successful in honing and developing their entrepreneurial instincts.”

The event was also attended by Damsir Besari, the Principal of Sekolah Terbuka Madani, along with teachers Mrs. Fatimah and Mrs. Nurul. The FEB community service team, led by Syamsi Mustofa Singgih Prayogo, included members Jajang and Fauziyah Adzimatinur, all dedicated to ensuring the program’s success.

This session marked the 13th meeting held at Faculty B, UIII, following 12 prior sessions aimed at enhancing students' entrepreneurial capabilities. Syamsi, a Master's student in Sustainable Finance, explained, “We prepared 12 structured sessions to train 32 students from grades 10 to 12. Through this program, we hope they can better understand how to manage abstract business ideas, making them easier to comprehend and implement in the field.

At the conclusion of the event, three outstanding business ideas were selected as winners from the pitched proposals. Group 3, consisting of grade 10 girls, secured first place with their business idea, "Digital Invitation," earning IDR 1,000,000.

Group 2, comprised of grade 12 girls, took second place with their idea, "E-book," receiving IDR 750,000. Group 5, made up of grade 10 boys, claimed third place with their idea, "Rice Bowl," winning IDR 500,000. These activities aim to not only enhance the students' entrepreneurial skills but also empower their personal and professional growth.

Additionally, participants had the opportunity to explore UIII’s Jusuf Kalla Library, a state-of-the-art facility currently gaining attention on social media. The students enjoyed a guided tour, learned about the library’s management, and captured memorable moments in its picturesque spaces. This initiative underscores FEB UIII’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit and empowering future generations.
