Depok, 22 October 2024 – The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) recently completed a monitoring and evaluation of Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) with a specific focus on its international initiatives. The evaluation, conducted by MORA’s Inspectoral General from October 14 to 18, 2024, was part of the ministry’s regular oversight of State Universities with Legal Entities (PTNBH).
The evaluation was conducted in line with Letter of Assignment No. 2412/IJ/10/2024, with the aim of reviewing UIII’s progress in fulfilling its strategic goals, particularly regarding its international engagements. Mr. Emzolianda and other team members examined the university’s efforts in expanding its global presence, including its partnerships with foreign institutions and the recruitment of international students and faculty.
“The international aspect of UIII’s operations is critical, and we have evaluated the extent to which the university is achieving its goal of becoming a global institution,” said Mr. Emzolianda. “We reviewed current partnerships, as well as the presence of foreign lecturers and students, to ensure that UIII is on track to enhance its international profile.”
The findings from the evaluation highlighted areas for improvement, particularly in terms of strengthening UIII’s international collaborations and expanding its global outreach. However, the team noted the progress that has already been made and acknowledged UIII’s potential to serve as a global hub for education.
This evaluation underscores the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ commitment to ensuring that UIII meets the necessary standards as a PTNBH, while also advancing its goal of establishing a strong international presence. The insights gained from this process will assist UIII in refining its strategies to further enhance its role on the global stage.
