Prof. Dr. Mohamed Roughi Delivers Lecture on Shaping Islamic Scholars in Contemporary World

On Friday, November 22, 2024, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Roughi, a prominent member of the Higher Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, delivered an inspiring lecture at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII). The lecture, titled “The Formation of Muslim Scholars and the Challenges of the Contemporary World”, attracted faculty members, students, and scholars from UIII and beyond.

In his lecture, Prof. Roughi emphasized the critical role of ulema (Islamic scholars) in preserving and advancing Islamic teachings in the face of rapidly changing global realities. Drawing from his extensive experience in Islamic scholarship, he discussed the evolving responsibilities of Islamic scholars in addressing contemporary issues such as social justice, environmental sustainability, and interfaith dialogue.
