Bandung – Deakin Lancaster Indonesia (DLI) hosted APIR 2026 at its campus in Bandung. Held in DLI’s meeting room, the event brought together scholars from Deakin University, Lancaster University, UGM, UIN Jakarta, BRIN, and UIII to present their latest research and build professional networks. The event was held in a hybrid format.

The one-day event took place on October 13, 2026, and featured presentations by all invited scholars. UIII was represented by Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim and Dr. Ridwan al-Makassary. In addition to the keynote address, presentations, and session breaks, the program included a dedicated networking session and discussions on plans for international collaboration. The event concluded with dinner and informal conversations.

The DLI team facilitated travel for in-person participants by providing round-trip tickets for the Whoosh high-speed train. Dr. Hasyim and Dr. al-Makassary traveled to and from the event on the train, as did several other speakers from the universities and research institutions mentioned above.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Anna Halafoff, speaking on behalf of DLI, thanked everyone who had traveled to DLI, as well as those who joined online, for making the event so remarkable and inspiring.

Professor Halafoff said, “We are deeply honored to have had the opportunity to learn more about your research, and we hope you also found the exchange valuable. We certainly look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.” These discussions are expected to lead to fruitful research partnerships in the future.
