Depok — The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIS) at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) and Sekolah Tinggi Kulliyatul Qur’an (STKQ) Al-Hikam Depok signed a Cooperation Agreement on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, to strengthen collaboration in education, research, community service, and human resource development.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Yanwar Pribadi, PhD, Dean of FIS at UIII, and Dr. Subur Wijaya, M.Pd.I., Head of STKQ Al-Hikam. The five-year agreement, covering the period from 2026 to 2031, aims to combine the institutional strengths of both institutions and support the development of their academic programs.

During the occasion, Prof. Yanwar Pribadi emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships both internationally and locally. He noted that FIS UIII has established collaborations with institutions across the seas and oceans, including the University of Edinburgh and SOAS University of London. However, he stressed that it is equally important to develop meaningful partnerships with institutions closer to UIII, including STKQ Al-Hikam in Depok.

“While we collaborate with universities across the seas and oceans, we also need to build strategic partnerships with institutions in our immediate surroundings, including STKQ Al-Hikam, which is located close to UIII in Depok,” he said.

The cooperation covers several areas. In education, the two institutions will explore scholarship programs, opportunities for lecturers and educational staff to pursue further qualifications, and student internships or fieldwork placements. In research, the agreement provides for joint research, co-authored publications in national and international journals, and the exchange of academic data, manuscripts, and research findings. In community service, the partnership will support research-based community engagement, economic empowerment, environmental governance, the application of science and technology, and community-based psychosocial support.

The agreement also opens opportunities for STKQ Al-Hikam to strengthen the international dimension of its educational programs. Through potential student and lecturer exchange initiatives, STKQ Al-Hikam could engage with UIII’s international academic community, which includes students and lecturers from various countries. Such exchanges would provide opportunities for academic interaction, cross-cultural learning, and the sharing of educational experiences.

The partnership is expected to benefit both institutions by connecting their respective academic expertise and resources. Through joint educational activities, research initiatives, and community engagement, FIS UIII and STKQ Al-Hikam aim to expand opportunities for collaboration while contributing to the development of Islamic higher education in Indonesia.
