UIII to Host Landmark MoU Signing with Universitas Syeikh Nawawi Banten, Featuring Religious Lecture by Former Vice President KH Ma’ruf Amin

Depok, March 3, 2026 — Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) warmly invites the entire Civitas Academica to a special event marking an important step in strengthening inter-university collaboration and community spirit during the holy month of Ramadan.

On Wednesday, March 4, 2025, UIII will hold the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Syeikh Nawawi Banten (USNB), an esteemed higher education institution in Banten named after the renowned 19th-century Islamic scholar Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani. The partnership aims to foster cooperation in education, research, community service, and the advancement of Islamic scholarship in Indonesia.

The ceremony will be followed by a community iftar (breaking of the fast), designed to enhance brotherhood, unity, and shared values among the UIII community.

– Venue: Procession Hall, 3rd Floor, Rectorate Building, UIII Campus, Depok

– Key Agenda:

  1. Official signing of the MoU between UIII and USNB by Prof. Jamhari, PhD (Rector of UIII) and Hj. Siti Haniatunnisa, LLB., MH (Rector of USNB).
  2. Inspiring tausiyah (religious lecture) delivered by Prof. Dr. (H.C.) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, the former Vice President of Indonesia during the administration of President Joko Widodo (2019–2024). As a prominent national ulama, senior Nahdlatul Ulama figure, and respected Islamic scholar, KH Ma’ruf Amin will share valuable insights to enrich the spiritual and intellectual atmosphere of the gathering.

 

Prof. Jamhari, PhD, Rector of UIII, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “This MoU signing represents our commitment to building synergistic partnerships with fellow Islamic universities across Indonesia. The university secretary Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim confirms that such academic partnership is very important for UIII. “All lecturers, staff, students, and members of the UIII academic community are encouraged to attend this meaningful event.
