Depok, April 23, 2025 – Professor David Cheetham from the University of Birmingham visited Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) on April 23, 2025, to discuss potential academic collaborations between the two institutions. The meeting was led by UIII’s Rector, Prof. Jamhari.

During the productive discussion, Prof. Cheetham engaged in direct talks with the faculty deans and university leadership, exploring various opportunities for partnership. These included student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and the possibility of a double degree program. The dialogue with Prof. Nurmila focused on educational collaborations, while discussions with the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Vice Rector Dr. Hasyim covered broader academic cooperation frameworks.

Professor Cheetham expressed his enthusiasm about the visit, “I’m very happy to be at UIII and impressed by the university’s vision. I look forward to our future collaborations,” he said.

Prof. Jamhari welcomed the potential partnership, emphasizing UIII’s commitment to expanding its international academic networks. “This meeting opens doors for meaningful cooperation that will benefit both our institutions,” he said.

While the meeting set the foundation for future cooperation, both parties agreed that further discussions would be needed to discuss about the details of the double degree program.
