UIII Strengthens Integrity Systems in Final Push for WBK and WBBM Recognition

By Dadi Darmadi

Jakarta, Indonesia – Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), a State University with Legal Entity (PTN-BH) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, is entering the final phase of its preparation to achieve the national benchmarks of a Corruption-Free Area (WBK, Wilayah Bebas dari Korupsi) and a Clean and Service-Oriented Bureaucratic Area (WBBM, Wilayah Birokrasi Bersih dan Melayani).

This critical effort was intensified through a focused coaching workshop held from Friday to Sunday, December 12-14, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Gajah Mada, West Jakarta. The session was led by senior facilitators from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“The achievement of WBK/WBBM is a meticulous process that demands strong commitment and precise execution. Our role is to ensure UIII’s internal mechanisms and documentation fully meet the rigorous government assessment parameters,” stated H. Muhammad Su’bi, S.Ag, MM, Head of the Administrative Section (Kabag) at the Bureau of Organization and Administration (Ortala) at the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) of the Republic of Indonesia. He emphasized that the goal is sustainable system building, not merely chasing an award.

The workshop provided targeted technical assistance to UIII’s internal Integrity Zone (ZI) Task Force. The facilitators, including Dr. Zulkifli, S.Ag.,M.Si., and Nanang Rosidi, S.Th.I, Policy Analysts from the Organization and Management Sub-Team at the Directorate General of Islamic Education (Pendis), guided participants through comprehensive self-assessment, integrity risk mapping, and the refinement of public service protocols.

Nanang Rosidi, S.Th.I provided hands-on training on the official evaluation instruments and digital submission systems. “Accuracy and consistency in the self-evaluation report are crucial. We are aligning UIII’s internal metrics with national standards to build a compelling proposal,” he noted.

Representing UIII’s dedicated task force, Hatta Auliya, SE, Head of Organization, Staff, and Legal Affairs and Coordinator of the WBK/WBBM Working Group, outlined the key focus areas. “Our efforts center on streamlining digital services, ensuring transparent academic and financial governance, and deeply embedding anti-corruption values into our campus culture,” Auliya explained.

The Head of UIII’s Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI), Diana Fitri Dahli, ST, confirmed that these activities mark the final preparation stage before the formal submission of UIII’s WBK/WBBM application. “This high-level recognition would position UIII as a pioneering university in Indonesia, setting a national standard for integrity and bureaucratic reform in higher education,” she said.

Dr. Chaider Bamualim, University Secretary of UIII, expressed profound gratitude for the ministry’s direct support. “The expertise from Ortala and Ditjen Pendis is invaluable. This mentorship ensures our reforms are on the right track, accelerating our journey to become a national exemplar of clean, transparent, and service-oriented governance,” Dr. Chaider stated.

Founded on June 29, 2016, UIII is designed with a modern, Islamic architectural concept and features extensive green open spaces, reflecting its commitment to fostering a holistic and virtuous academic environment. []
