Ararat Kostanian, a PhD scholar in Political Science from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) has contributed a chapter to the newly released SAGE International Encyclopedia of Politics and Gender, a globally recognized four-volume reference work published in the United States.

Edited by Lia K. Roberts, the encyclopedia offers an intersectional and global approach to the study of politics and gender. It goes beyond binary understandings of both fields, exploring gender as a spectrum and incorporating diverse perspectives from political science, sociology, economics, history, and gender studies.

Kostanian’s chapter, titled “Religion, Politics, and Terrorism,” delves into the complex intersections between faith, power, and conflict, highlighting how religion and political structures influence contemporary forms of violence and extremism.

“I’m proud to have contributed a chapter titled Religion, Politics, and Terrorism, exploring the intricate intersections between faith, power, and conflict. It’s an honor to be part of such a globally recognized publication by SAGE and to bring the name of UIII to the global academic arena,” said Kostanian.

The SAGE International Encyclopedia of Politics and Gender features contributions from scholars and institutions around the world, positioning itself as a comprehensive resource for students and practitioners interested in the global dimensions of gender and politics.
