UIII Faculty of Social Sciences Holds Third Judicium Highlighting Student Achievements

Depok, 22 August 2025 – The UIII Faculty of Social Sciences (FOSS) held its third judicium on Friday, August 22, 2025. The judicium, which serves as an official academic session marking the completion of studies, was attended by all graduating students from MA in Political Science and MPP on Climate Change programs.

The event celebrated not only their successful completion of study but also recognized outstanding scholarly contributions through a series of awards. Among the honorees, Rizky Adyaksa from Indonesia was recognized as the Best Political Science MA Graduate, standing out for his academic excellence and active engagement during his studies.

In the field of International Relations, Amanulla Zarawar of Afghanistan received the award for Best International Relations MA Thesis with his groundbreaking research, “Secrecy as a Path to a Negotiated Settlement Between Enemies: A Case Study of the U.S.–Taliban Peace Process.” His work was praised for its critical insights into conflict resolution and diplomacy.

Meanwhile, Nurul Fatin Afifa was honored with the award for Best Comparative Politics MA Thesis for her research, “The Political Pathway of Women’s Representation in Indonesia: A Comparative Study of PKB and PAN in the 2024 General Election.” Her study illuminated new perspectives on gender and political participation in Indonesia’s democratic landscape.

In the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program, achievements centered on the theme of climate change, reflecting UIII’s strong commitment to sustainability. Rizky Tri Septian was named Best MPP Graduate Focusing on Climate Change, while Maulidya Qutrotunnada won Best MPP Thesis Focusing on Climate Change for her research, “Navigating Raja Ampat’s Customary and Formal Policy Integration of Marine Protected Areas in Building Sequencing Governance.”

Additionally, Dwi Raayu Ningrum and Momodou Habib Ba were jointly awarded for their capstone project, “The New Skills Midwives Need as Part of the Climate Solution: Policy and Programs Interventions,” earning the recognition of Best MPP Capstone Focusing on Climate Change.

Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, along with faculty members, expressed pride in the graduates’ accomplishments, noting that the awards highlight both the rigor of UIII’s programs and the students’ dedication to addressing pressing global and national challenges.

The third judicium of FOSS reaffirmed UIII’s mission to cultivate scholars and practitioners equipped not only with academic excellence but also with the vision and commitment to contribute meaningfully to society.
