UIII welcomes Mr. Francisco José Masís Holdridge, the Head of Mission and Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Costa Rica in Indonesia in Depok, on February 25th, 2026. Prof. Jamhari, the Rector of UIII, welcomes the delegates to discuss academic collaboration between UIII and the Embassy of Costa Rica in Indonesia.
At the meeting, Mr. Francisco said that it’s essential to build connections with Indonesia. He said that he has a mission to get close to Indonesia, especially through education. “It’s important to build a connection with Indonesia and get close to the culture through education,” he said.
Previously, he had visited some universities in Indonesia to build connections; now, it’s UIII. “The objective is to look for a Costa Rica student to go to Indonesia,” he said.
On the same occasion, Prof. Jamhari said he would welcome students from Costa Rica and hoped they would come to UIII. Currently, UIII has only one student from South America, and expects more. “We have a student from Mexico, who has already graduated, and we are glad if there are more students from South America,” he said.
Vice-Rector for Academic and Students Affairs, Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim, also said that UIII now has 6 faculties and offers more than 15 postgraduate programs that can be applied to by Costa Rican Students. “We have a specific study program that is very important to learn in today’s world,” he said.
As a follow-up, Mr. Francisco will promote UIII admissions to Costa Rican students who are interested in continuing their studies in Indonesia. He hopes that in 2026, there will be a Costa Rican at UIII.
