Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) proudly congratulates Manuel Jerónimo Freitas, an alumnus of the MA in Political Science program (Class of 2022), on his recent appointment as the National Chapter Representative of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization (NAMYO) for Timor-Leste at the global level.
In addition to this prestigious role, Manuel also serves as the President of the Youth Empowerment Network of Timor-Leste (YENTL), where he leads initiatives that empower young people across his home country through policy advocacy, civic engagement, and grassroots leadership programs.
Speaking on his appointment, Manuel shared his gratitude for the academic foundation and international exposure he received during his studies at UIII: “UIII shaped the way I think about global issues and youth leadership. The diverse academic environment and the friendships I built gave me the confidence to contribute to international platforms. I am proud to represent Timor-Leste and bring our youth voices to the global stage.”
Manuel emphasized that his mission in both roles is to “amplify the voice of young people in Timor-Leste and connect them with global opportunities for peace, development, and education.”
As Manuel takes on this new responsibility, the entire UIII community stands behind him, confident that he will make a lasting impact both nationally and globally.
