Taking the train is a clean, efficient, and affordable option to reach UIII from the airport—ideal if you want to avoid heavy traffic and prefer public transit. Below is the full guide, now including ticketing and payment system details.

1. Reach the Airport Railink Station
From Terminal 3 Arrival Hall, follow signs to the Airport Railink Station. You can either walk (it’s connected via a passageway) or take the Skytrain to reach it.

3. Transfer to the KRL Commuter Line (Commuter Train)

After arriving at Manggarai Station, walk about five minutes to the nearby platform to board the KRL Commuter Line (operated by PT KCI) heading toward Depok or Bogor. Important: You need an e-money card to use KRL

KRL does not sell paper tickets or single-use tickets. You must tap in/out using a
contactless e-money card, such as:

  • BRIZZI (BRI)
  • e-Money (Mandiri) 
  • Tap Cash (BNI)
  • Flash (BCA)

    You can buy these cards at nearby Indomaret, Alfamart, or from station counters at major
    stations like Manggarai. Make sure it has enough balance (top-up available via retail stores
    or ATMs).


    Alternatively, you can use the KRL Access app to check schedules and station maps,
    though you still need the physical e-money card to tap in.

4. Final Ride to UIII Campus

From Pondok Cina Station, use a ride-hailing app like Grab or Gojek to reach UIII. The
campus is just a short drive from the station.
These apps work similarly to Uber. Simply enter “UIII” or “Universitas Islam Internasional
Indonesia” as your destination.

The ride should take about 15–20 minutes and cost around Rp 20,000–30,000 ($1.50–2).
