Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) have officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 27 November 2025, marking a significant step forward in deepening the partnership established under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on August 8, 2024, at the UMJ campus in South Tangerang.

The newly signed MoA provides detailed frameworks for collaboration in several key areas, including doctoral study programs, joint research initiatives, the development of Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) programs, and human resource mobility between the two institutions. This agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing academic excellence and creating wider opportunities for capacity-building across institutions.

UIII Rector, Prof. Dr. Jamhari, emphasized the significance of this strengthened partnership. “This MoA is not merely an administrative extension of our earlier MoU, but a concrete step toward building an academic ecosystem rooted in collaboration, innovation, and mutual benefit. UIII is committed to working closely with UMJ to ensure that these initiatives produce meaningful outcomes for our scholars and communities.”

UMJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Ma’mun Murod, expressed his enthusiasm and hope for the collaboration, noting the inherent value of working together. “Collaboration is inevitable, because when we help others, it is essentially the same as helping ourselves. I am truly delighted to collaborate with UIII, because moving forward, we will continue to bring mutual benefit to one another,” he said.

The agreement is expected to accelerate the development of joint academic programs, promote cross-institutional learning experiences, and strengthen research that contributes to Indonesia’s broader educational and societal goals. Both institutions affirmed their commitment to implementing the MoA effectively and opening new pathways for cooperation in the future.
