A passport is an official document issued by your country’s government that proves your identity and citizenship, allowing you to travel internationally. If you don’t have one yet, make
sure to apply for it as soon as possible through the appropriate government office.
Remember, a passport is typically valid for 10 years — having a valid one ready will save you from last-minute hassles when planning your trips.
For international students at UIII, safeguarding your passport and other immigration documents (e.g., visa, residence permit/KITAS) is essential. Losing or misplacing these documents can result in serious administrative delays, additional costs, or legal
complications. To help minimize such risks, UIII—through its International Office—offers a
Secure Documents Custody Service.
This service allows students to voluntarily store their original immigration-related
documents in a secure, access-controlled vault managed by authorized staff at the
International Office. The custody service is particularly useful during academic breaks,
overseas travel, or times when documents are not immediately needed.
