Passport & Custody Services

A passport is an official document issued by your country’s government that proves your identity and citizenship, allowing you to travel internationally. If you don’t have one yet, make
sure to apply for it as soon as possible through the appropriate government office.
Remember, a passport is typically valid for 10 years — having a valid one ready will save you from last-minute hassles when planning your trips.

For international students at UIII, safeguarding your passport and other immigration documents (e.g., visa, residence permit/KITAS) is essential. Losing or misplacing these documents can result in serious administrative delays, additional costs, or legal
complications. To help minimize such risks, UIII—through its International Office—offers a
Secure Documents Custody Service.

This service allows students to voluntarily store their original immigration-related
documents in a secure, access-controlled vault managed by authorized staff at the
International Office. The custody service is particularly useful during academic breaks,
overseas travel, or times when documents are not immediately needed.

How it works?

  • Registration – Students who wish to use the custody service must register by contacting
    the International Office at io@uiii.ac.id
  • Submission – After registration, students bring the original documents (e.g., passport,
KITAS, visa) to the International Office during designated drop-off hours
  • Custody Receipt – Upon submission, students receive a custody receipt signed by both
parties. This receipt lists all documents stored and serves as proof of custody
  • Storage – Documents are stored in a fireproof and tamper-proof safe. Access is
    restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Withdrawal – Students can retrieve their documents at any time by presenting the
custody receipt and valid identification. Retrieval must be requested at least 1–2 working
days in advance to allow for verification and scheduling.

This free service is designed to offer peace of mind and ensure that your important legal
documents remain safe and protected while you focus on your academic journey. For
questions or assistance, please contact the International Office
