Inspectorate General Conducts Audit Exposure at UIII, Applauds Green Campus as Ecotheology in Practice

DEPOK – The Indonesia International Islamic University (UIII) welcomed a delegation from the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs for an exposure and clarification meeting on the results of the 2024 Financial Management Audit. The event was held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the UIII Rectorate Building.

Led directly by Inspector General H. Khairunnas, SH., MH., and accompanied by the Head of Regional Inspectorate II, H. Mohammad Ali Irfan, SE, MM, MAk, the visit served a dual purpose: conducting routine budgetary oversight and observing the university’s development firsthand. The meeting was attended by UIII’s senior leadership, including vice rectors, deans, directors, and heads of administrative units.

In his remarks, Inspector General H. Khairunnas emphasized that the audit is a supportive function of the state. “Our primary task is to monitor the suitability and implementation of the budget,” he stated. “We are here not only to review reports but also to see directly how the allocated funds are materialized into tangible progress for the advancement of UIII.”

He further explained that such monitoring ensures all university activities and developments align with its strategic plan, providing optimal benefits for Indonesia’s Islamic higher education landscape.

Beyond the formal audit agenda, the Inspector General expressed significant appreciation for UIII’s physical and conceptual development. During a tour of the campus, he specifically commended the successful implementation of its Green Campus concept.

“The preservation of mature trees, integrated green spaces, and sustainable design principles here are highly commendable,” stated H. Khairunnas. “This environment is a concrete and praiseworthy realization of the Ecotheology vision promoted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. We will certainly highlight this good practice in our report to the Minister.”

Responding on behalf of UIII Rector Prof. Dr. Jamhari, Vice Rector for Administration and Finance Prof. Dr. Amsal Bakhtiar expressed gratitude for the supervision and positive feedback. “We welcome the audit results as constructive input for continuous improvement in our governance,” said Prof. Bakhtiar. “The recognition of our Green Campus efforts is particularly encouraging, as it affirms our commitment to building an institution that is academically excellent and environmentally responsible.”

The University Secretary, Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, MA, alongside other principal officials, including Saiful Umam, PhD, the Director of Research and Partnerships, and Diana Fitri Dahli, ST, Head of UIII’s Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI), attended the productive dialogue, which lasted into the afternoon. The session is expected to further strengthen governance, accountability, and sustainable development initiatives at UIII.

Also in attendance were deans and representatives of all faculties, directors, bureau heads, and staff from the Internal Supervisory Unit and the Directorate of Planning and Finance. The Inspectorate General’s team was joined by representatives from the Directorate General of Islamic Education. []
