Customs Guideline

If you’re an international student entering Indonesia, it’s important to understand the
customs regulations regarding personal belongings and couriered goods. Personal items intended for your own use — including gifts and essentials brought from abroad — are generally duty-free up to a value of USD 500 per person. However, items not considered
personal use (such as bulk purchases or goods carried on behalf of others) may be subject to import duties and taxes based on their type and value. Prohibited or restricted goods, including excessive quantities of alcohol or tobacco, may also face additional scrutiny or confiscation.

Please be transparent when declaring your items upon arrival using the Customs Declaration form. Failure to declare goods — especially non-personal or restricted items — can lead to fines or even legal consequences. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, visit
Indonesia’s Customs official website: www.beacukai.go.id.
